Everything’s running smoothly here: A wind turbine mounted on a FUCHS hybrid tower is reliably doing its job here in the Middle Fran­conia region. It marks the final mile­stone in the journey from concept to imple­men­ta­tion. The journey—from deve­lo­p­ment and certi­fi­ca­tion, through the estab­lish­ment of produc­tion, to the first towers being installed—took less than three years. This process has resulted in a compe­ti­tive, robust tower system that is now setting further signi­fi­cant bench­marks from cons­truc­tion site to cons­truc­tion site on the path to a successful energy transition. 

Every good part­ner­ship grows—and takes on incre­asingly concrete form. In the first half of the year, VENSYS AG and FUCHS Euro­poles Wind GmbH signed a frame­work agree­ment for the VS175‑7.X turbine at 160 m above sea level. The combi­na­tion of the modern 7‑MW turbine and the FUCHS.Hybrid tower shows great poten­tial for the German market. The first instal­la­tions will take place later this year. At the same time, we are working inten­si­vely toge­ther to drive forward further deve­lo­p­ments for even more powerful wind turbines. 

The combi­na­tion of concrete and steel makes the FUCHS Hybrid Tower ideally suited for use in wind turbines with high hub heights. We are curr­ently deve­lo­ping and certi­fying addi­tional tower designs within our tower system for various turbine types from diffe­rent manufacturers—adding new chap­ters to the success story of our product family. 

Cost-effec­tive, space-saving, and ther­e­fore sustainable: We combine our exper­tise in tower design and mate­rials with our elec­trical engi­nee­ring know-how and inte­grate the battery storage system into the tower’s base. The result is a combined system consis­ting of a tower, prefa­bri­cated compon­ents, and a battery. The short-term storage system enables the operator to opti­mize revenue by feeding elec­tri­city into the grid at favorable market prices.
